Share a live link
1
Open a list that has items
You can share once the list isn’t empty.
2
Tap Share
Tap Share on the list.
📸 Screenshot needed: shopping list with the Share button highlighted.
3
Choose Allow editing or View only
Allow editing lets people add, edit, and check items in the app. View only lets them see the list without checking or editing.
4
Send the private link
Send the link however you usually share — Messages, email, or another app.
📸 Screenshot needed: share sheet with Allow editing and View only.
Who can do what
- Owner (app) — full control: edit, check, share, and remove people.
- Editor (edit link, joined in the app) — add, edit, and check items. They can’t manage the link.
- Viewer (view link, joined in the app) — see the list. They can’t check or edit.
- Web guest (has the link, not in the app) — on an edit link, enter a short name (no links) and then check items. On a view link, look only.
View-only members can see the list but cannot shop it. Web guests must add a
short name before checking items.
Use a shared list in the app
Switch lists from the title to move between lists you own and lists you joined. Shared lists show Shared or Collaborating and people’s avatars. When someone checks an item, you’ll see who did it — for example, “Alex checked this.” If you own the list, you can remove someone from it.📸 Screenshot needed: shared shopping list with Shared/Collaborating, avatars,
and a “checked this” label on an item.
Share as plain text instead
Need to send the list to someone who doesn’t use Souschef? You can still share it as plain text — sorted by aisle — via Messages or any messaging app. That copy doesn’t stay in sync. For a live list, use the private link above.📸 Screenshot needed: Messages compose screen with a shopping list checklist
ready to send.
