On the free plan, you get 5 recipe imports per rolling 7 days. An import counts toward that limit only when you tap Save. Reviewing a recipe and leaving without saving does not use a slot. Once you have used all 5, you cannot import any more recipes until a slot frees up or you upgrade to Souschef Plus.

When an import counts

After you paste a link, share a post, scan a photo, or paste text, Souschef shows a preview. You can check the title, ingredients, and steps before you decide.
  • Saving uses one import. Tap Save to add the recipe to your library. That uses one of your 5 weekly imports.
  • Leaving without saving does not count. Close the preview or go back, and that attempt does not use a slot.
  • Failed imports do not count. If Souschef cannot extract a recipe, you do not lose a slot. See why imports sometimes fail.
This applies to every supported source.

What happens when you have used all 5 imports

After you save 5 recipes in the current 7-day window, you cannot import any more recipes. The next time you try, the app shows a message and the import does not start. You can still:
  • View, organize, edit, search, and cook from every recipe already in your library
  • Wait until a slot frees up — 7 days after an earlier saved import
  • Upgrade to Souschef Plus for unlimited imports
