The import is taking longer than 30 seconds
If the import spinner has been going for more than 30 seconds, it may be stuck. Here’s what to do:
- Close the Souschef app completely (force-quit it).
- Check that you have a stable internet connection — try loading a webpage to confirm.
- Reopen Souschef and try the import again.
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube post didn't produce a recipe
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube post didn't produce a recipe
Souschef extracts recipe information from the post’s caption or description and, when available, the video’s spoken audio — but not every food video actually includes a recipe. If the import completed but no recipe appeared (or the result is empty), it’s likely because the post didn’t contain enough recipe details for Souschef to work with.A few things to check:
- Does the post’s caption (or description) include ingredients or steps?
- Does the creator mention the recipe in their spoken audio?
- Is the recipe only written in the comments? Souschef doesn’t read comments, so those details won’t be imported.

Some recipe websites use technical measures that can prevent automated extraction. If sharing a URL from your browser didn’t work, try this instead:
- Copy the recipe page’s URL.
- In Souschef, tap the + button.
- Select Import from URL.
- Paste the URL and tap Import.

Souschef uses AI to extract recipes, and while it does a great job most of the time, it isn’t perfect — especially with unusually formatted pages or posts. If some ingredients or steps didn’t come through:
- Open the recipe in Souschef.
- Tap the Edit button.
- Fill in any missing details manually.
