Souschef stores your data securely in the cloud, so your recipes are always available whenever you sign in — whether that’s on your phone, a new tablet, or any other device. Here’s a plain-language overview of what we store, where it lives, and how it’s protected.

What data is stored

When you use Souschef, we store:
  • Your account information — your first and last name, and your email address.
  • Your saved recipes — everything you’ve added or created inside the app.
  • Journal entries — private notes and photos of what you cooked, tied to your account.
  • Shopping lists — including lists you share and lists you join.
  • Collection membership — collections you own or have joined.
That’s what we collect to make the app work well for you. Some things stay on this device only and are not restored on a new phone or after a reinstall:
  • Meal Plan — your weekly plan of saved recipes
  • Pinned recipes — the short-term now-cooking tray
  • Imported Recipes history — recent import attempts (see Recipes missing)

Where data is stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. Here’s what that means for your security:
  • Encrypted at rest — your data is encrypted while it’s stored, so it’s protected even at the infrastructure level.
  • SOC2 Type 2 compliant — Supabase meets rigorous, independently audited security standards.
  • Private server infrastructure — data is held on isolated private servers, typically AWS EC2 instances.
  • Server locations — servers are located in the United States or potentially other countries.

Data sharing

Souschef does not sell your personal data — ever. We only share data in limited circumstances: as needed to operate the app (for example, sending emails you’ve opted into), to comply with legal obligations, or to protect our rights. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights

You’re in control of your data. At any time, you can:
  • Access or update your personal information directly within the Souschef app.
  • Delete your account and all associated data from within the app or by contacting support@nekonote.co.
Souschef complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), so if you’re based in the EU or UK, your data rights are fully respected.
Souschef does not use cookies or any similar tracking technologies.
