# Souschef Plus and billing FAQ

## About the free plan and Souschef Plus

    Yes! Souschef is free to download and includes almost all of its features.

    Free users can import up to **3 recipes each week** and may see ads during recipe imports. Every recipe you import is yours to keep — recipes don't expire, and the weekly limit only affects new imports.

    [Souschef Plus](/billing/subscription-benefits) removes the weekly import limit and provides an ad-free import experience. Souschef Plus also helps support ongoing development of the app.

    Most features—including Cooking Mode, Shopping Lists, Pantry, Nutrition, AI Tagging, AI Recipe Translation, AI Discovery, and recipe organization—are available on the free plan.

## Managing your subscription

    Yes. You can cancel Souschef Plus at any time through your phone's app store settings — there are no cancellation fees. See [How to cancel](/billing/cancel) for step-by-step instructions.

    You'll keep Souschef Plus features (unlimited imports and an ad-free import experience) until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account returns to the free plan — 3 new imports per week, with ads during recipe imports.

    No. Cancelling Souschef Plus does not delete any of your saved recipes. Every recipe you import is yours to keep — your library stays intact and fully accessible on the free plan.

## Billing

    Apple (App Store) on iPhone and iPad, and Google (Google Play) on Android. Souschef does not process payments directly — your payment method, billing history, and renewal settings live inside your Apple or Google account.

    Yes — the yearly Souschef Plus plan includes a **7-day free trial**. You get full Plus benefits during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged. The monthly plan does not include a free trial.

  <Accordion title="Is there a family plan?">
    No. Souschef Plus is an individual subscription and does not offer a family plan or shared access across Family Sharing / family library accounts. Each person who wants Plus needs their own subscription.
